2004: San Francisco Performances recognized for its arts education work in California public schools by the California Department of Education

2003: San Francisco Performances recognized for model arts education programs in Acts of Achievement, a publication of the Dana Foundation in partnership with Arts Presenters and the Kennedy Center

2003: San Francisco Performances received award for excellence in Design and Communication in the Web Site Category from Western Arts Alliance

2001: San Francisco Performances recognized by the California State Assembly for "highly respected work of bringing arts to our students in public schools while promoting the value of the performing arts"

2001: San Francisco Performances given the Community Leadership Award by the San Francisco Foundation, for "widespread promotion of the performing arts and creating well-respected and effective arts education and notable artists-in-residence programs"

2000: Ruth Felt is honored with the Leadership in Human Relations Award by the National Conference for Community and Justice

2000: Ruth Felt is honored with the Bernard Osher Cultural Award

1999: San Francisco Performances named one of eight Cornerstone Arts Organizations in the state of California by the James Irvine Foundation

1999: San Francisco Performances and Yerba Buena Center for the Arts jointly awarded the first arts grant made in California by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation of $2 million for endowment and artist-in-residence programs

1998: San Francisco Performances awarded a three-year Andrew W. Mellon Foundation grant of $100,000 to support the Dance program

1998: Ruth Felt and San Francisco Performances honored as leaders in the fight against AIDS by the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and Classical Action: Performing Arts Against AIDS

1997: Ruth Felt received the Charles and Eleanor de Limur Award for distinguished contributions to the arts in San Francisco

1996: Ruth Felt received the 1996 Willis Award from the Western Alliance of Arts Administrators for excellence in programming and leadership in the Western arts community

1996: One of 12 presenters nationally to be selected for the National Dance Project, Leadership in Dance Initiative

1994: San Francisco Performances recognized in a special tribute from Governor Pete Wilson for its education and outreach programs in the San Francisco public schools and community

1993: Ruth Felt honored by the San Francisco Community Music Center for her exceptional commitment to the Center and involvement in its programs

1988: Named one of 21 outstanding non-profit presenting organizations, Profile on Exemplary American Presenters

1986: SF Chamber of Commerce Award for major contributions to the cultural life of the Bay Area.
